While writing the number in words, students may reverse the order of digits by writing the ones place at first. This mistake can be avoided by understanding the place values that starts from right first like ones, tens, hundreds, thousands. We should always write ones first.

Hyphens must be used without spaces while writing numbers in words. For example, Ninety one looks like two different words, therefore hyphens are used to combine words Ninety-one.
 

Not writing the digits completely in words.
 

The students might skip and not write the complete number in words. Students may write just “ten” and forget to write a million, this makes it just ten (10) and not ten million (10000000). To avoid this, make sure you read the number out loud.
