What is the Divisibility Rule of 164?

The divisibility rule for 164 is a method by which we can find out if a number is divisible by 164 or not without using the division method. Check whether 492 is divisible by 164 with the divisibility rule.

Step 1: Check if the number is divisible by 4. For 492, the last two digits are 92. Since 92 is divisible by 4, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Check if the number is divisible by 41. To do this, add the digits of the number until a single-digit number is obtained. For 492, add 4+9+2 = 15, and then 1+5 = 6. Since 6 is not a multiple of 41, 492 is not divisible by 164.divisibility rule of 164

Tips and Tricks for Divisibility Rule of 164

Learning divisibility rules will help kids to master division. Let’s learn a few tips and tricks for the divisibility rule of 164.

  • Know the multiples of 164: Memorize the multiples of 164 (164, 328, 492, 656, etc.) to quickly check divisibility.

  • Use the divisibility rules for 4 and 41: A number is divisible by 164 if it is divisible by both 4 and 41.

  • Repeat the process for large numbers: Students should keep repeating the divisibility process until they reach a small number that is divisible by 164.

  • Use the division method to verify: Students can use the division method as a way to verify and cross-check their results. This will help them to verify and also learn.
