The numbers that have only two factors, which are 1 and itself, are called prime numbers. Prime numbers are used in encryption, computer algorithms, and barcode generation. In this topic, we will be discussing whether 1416 is a prime number or not.

Divisibility by 11: The alternating sum of the digits in 1416 is 0. Since 0 is divisible by 11, 1416 is divisible by 11. Since 1416 is divisible by multiple numbers beyond 1 and itself, it has more than two factors.
Therefore, it is a composite number.

Step 1: Write numbers in a range, such as 1 to 100, in rows and columns.
Step 2: Leave 1 without coloring or crossing, as it is neither prime nor composite.
Step 3: Mark 2 because it is a prime number and cross out all the multiples of 2.
Step 4: Mark 3 because it is a prime number and cross out all the multiples of 3.
Step 5: Repeat this process until you reach the table consisting of marked and crossed boxes, except 1. Through this process, we will have a list of prime numbers within that range. Since 1416 is not on the list of prime numbers, it is a composite number.
Prime factorization is a process of breaking down a number into prime factors. Then multiply those factors to obtain the original number.
Step 1: We can start with dividing 1416 by 2 to get 708.
Step 2: Divide 708 by 2 to get 354.
Step 3: Continue dividing by 2 to get 177.
Step 4: Divide 177 by 3 to get 59, which is a prime number. Step 5: The prime factorization of 1416 is 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 59.
