Break the numbers into smaller parts:

Breaking the numbers into smaller parts will make it easy to learn multiplication.

Here, 494 can break into 400 + 94  
(400 × 4) + (94 × 4) = 1600 + 376  
= 1976.

Use of flashcards:

On one side of the flashcard, write the multiplication problems.
