Divisibility Rule of 607

Professor Greenline Explaining Math Concepts

The divisibility rule is a way to find out whether a number is divisible by another number without using the division method. In real life, we can use the divisibility rule for quick math, dividing things evenly, and sorting things. In this topic, we will learn about the divisibility rule of 607.

What is the Divisibility Rule of 607?

The divisibility rule for 607 is a method by which we can determine if a number is divisible by 607 without using the division method. Check whether 1214 is divisible by 607 using the divisibility rule.
Step 1: Divide the number into two parts, the last three digits and the rest. For 1214, the last three digits are 214, and the remaining part is 1.
Step 2: Multiply the first part by 2 and add it to the second part. So, 1 × 2 + 214 = 216.
Step 3: If 216 is divisible by 607, then 1214 is divisible by 607. Since 216 is not divisible by 607, 1214 is not divisible by 607.

Tips and Tricks for Divisibility Rule of 607

Learning the divisibility rule will help kids master division. Let’s learn a few tips and tricks for the divisibility rule of 607.

Know the multiples of 607: Memorize the multiples of 607 (607, 1214, 1821, etc.) to quickly check divisibility. If the result from the addition is a multiple of 607, then the number is divisible by 607.

Repeat the process for large numbers: Students should keep repeating the divisibility process until they reach a small number that is divisible by 607. For example, check if 1821 is divisible by 607 using the divisibility test. Divide the number into two parts: 1 and 821. Multiply the first part by 2 and add it to the second part, 1 × 2 + 821 = 823. Since 823 is not divisible by 607, the number is not divisible by 607.

Use the division method to verify: Students can use the division method as a way to verify and cross-check their results. This will help them verify and also learn.
