The number 51 is a prime number, and in prime factorization of 51, the result will be only one and fifty-one as the factors of 51. Using the Counting Divisors Method

In the counting divisors method, we list the divisors of the given number and check if the number, to be considered prime, satisfies the two conditions.


The counting divisors method for 51 would simply be:


Divisors of 51 = 1, 


Number of divisors = 1, 3, 17, 51


The number 51, hence, can be said to be a composite number.

Using the Divisibility Test Method

In this method, the prime number only has two divisors, which are one and themselves. Hence, there is no any divisibility test for the number 51 other than checking if it is divisible by one and fifty-one.
