What is the Divisibility Rule of 713?

The divisibility rule for 713 is a method by which we can find out if a number is divisible by 713 without using the division method. Check whether 2139 is divisible by 713 with the divisibility rule.

 

Step 1: Multiply the last digit of the number by 2. Here in 2139, 9 is the last digit, so multiply it by 2. 9 × 2 = 18.

 

Step 2: Subtract the result from Step 1 from the remaining digits, but do not include the last digit. i.e., 213–18 = 195.

 

Step 3: As 195 is not a multiple of 713, we repeat the process with 195. Multiply the last digit by 2, i.e., 5 × 2 = 10, and subtract from the remaining digits: 19–10 = 9.

 

Step 4: Since 9 is not a multiple of 713, the original number 2139 is not divisible by 713.
