Divisibility Rule of 358

Step 1: Multiply the last digit of the number by 2, here in 716, 6 is the last digit. Multiply it by 2. 6 × 2 = 12.

Step 2: Subtract the result from Step 1 from the remaining values but do not include the last digit. i.e., 71 - 12 = 59.

Step 3: As shown, 59 is not a multiple of 358, therefore, the number is not divisible by 358. If the result from step 2 is a multiple of 358, then the number is divisible by 358.

For example: Check if 1432 is divisible by 358 using the divisibility test.  
Multiply the last digit by 2, i.e., 2 × 2 = 4.  
Subtract the remaining digits excluding the last digit by 4, 143 - 4 = 139.  

Still, 139 is a large number, hence we will repeat the process again. Multiply the last digit by 2, 9 × 2 = 18.  
Now subtract 18 from the remaining numbers excluding the last digit, 13 - 18 = -5.  

As -5 is not a multiple of 358, 1432 is not divisible by 358.
