What is the Divisibility Rule of 694?

The divisibility rule for 694 is a method by which we can find out if a number is divisible by 694 or not without using the division method. Check whether 2082 is divisible by 694 with the divisibility rule.
 

Step 1: Multiply the last digit of the number by 2, here in 2082, 2 is the last digit, multiply it by 2. 2 × 2 = 4.

Step 2: Subtract the result from Step 1 from the remaining values but do not include the last digit. i.e., 208–4 = 204.
 
Step 3: As it is shown that 204 is not a multiple of 694, the number is not divisible by 694. If the result from step 2 were a multiple of 694, then the number would be divisible by 694.divisibility rule of 694

  • Repeat the process for large numbers: Students should keep repeating the divisibility process until they reach a small number that is divisible by 694.

    For example, check if 5558 is divisible by 694 using the divisibility test. Multiply the last digit by 2, i.e., 8 × 2 = 16. Subtract the remaining digits excluding the last digit by 16, 555–16 = 539.

    Since 539 is still a large number, repeat the process: multiply the last digit by 2, 9 × 2 = 18.

    Subtract 18 from the remaining numbers excluding the last digit, 53–18 = 35. As 35 is not a multiple of 694, 5558 is not divisible by 694.
