Caves & Cliffs is a part that has 2 updates that are from the Java and Bedrock editions. The Caves and Cliffs update has been released in two separate updates: 1.17 and 1.18. The first update is also known as the ‘Summer update’. The Java Edition 1.17 and Bedrock Edition 1.17.0 was released on June 8th, 2021. The second is also known as the holiday season, the Java Edition 1.18 and Bedrock Edition 1.18.0 was released on November 30th, 2021.

The new mobs, such as goats, axolotls, and building blocks (drip leaf and deep slate), were the main focus of the first edition. Additionally, this update brought new copper items. Here, the game has continuously added new biomes while keeping the ones that were already there. The cliffs got a new snow effect, powder snow blocks, and the goat’s stuff that is being added, and we have to find these new areas to tunnel downwards. Three new underground biomes were filled with new plants to harvest, new materials to gather, and also new Minecraft mobs to encounter. It also added a terrifying-sounding monster and two best friend mobs that can help to down the pesky enemies.

The second edition update, shook up the whole blocky grindstone Minecraft world a lot, by introducing some fairly radical world changes, like deeper underground, higher sky ceiling, refreshed ore distribution, adding more dramatic mountains and caves, and also the exciting eight new types of biomes available in Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update part 2, and they are as follows.

  1. Noise caves and aquifers.
  2. Dripstone Cave Biome.
  3. Lush Caves biome.
  4. Grove biome.
  5. Meadow biome.
  6. Lofty Peaks biome.
  7. Snowcapped Peaks biome and Snowy Slopes biome.
  8. Stony Peaks biome.

Let’s go over some of the ores we can find in the caves and cliffs in part 2:

  • Iron Ore
  • Copper Ore
  • Lapis Lazuli
  • Coal
  • Gold
  • Redstone
  • Diamond

The all-new Warden mob is coming in a future update that is in 2022. The second update to Minecraft’s Caves and Cliffs was delayed, so the warden mob was absent. However, you shouldn’t worry because they are about to launch The Wild update for Minecraft, which will be included in the game alongside Deep Dark.

By the way, the Wardens and the Deep Dark biome are not the only things that we didn’t get in the 1.18 update. The bundles, edition, and goat horns will not be in Minecraft creeper just yet either but don’t worry, it will come in a later update.

The new Archaeology Site structure enables the players to use a copper brush to unearth items buried in Sand, Gravel, or Dirt Blocks. However, after a charge into a solid object, a goat may drop its horn, which can be used by players to make noises. So the good thing is that the Bundles are craftable sacks that are going to take up one inventory slot, but they can hold several items of different types. It is useful for long journeys and also for an extensive mining exp where food and material storage is very essential.

There is another update, called “The Wild Update” because it will add some new areas to the Minecraft game. There are mangrove swamps, the Deep Dark, and a new mob such as frogs, Warden. The Wild Update also confirms that Part 2 of the Caves & Cliffs update is coming soon. Caves & Cliffs were announced in Minecraft 2020 and on April 14, 2021, the update would be split into two portions due to the amount, complexity of content, and team health. But later it was announced in Minecraft Live 2021 that the Deep Dark portion, certain items of the Caves & Cliffs update will be delayed until The Wild Update to improve the quality.

Minecraft developer Mojang is trying his best to get this update to work in all existing Minecraft worlds and he wants to give more time for development because it is a new system above other “Minecrafty”. By the time part two launches, the new 91 blocks will be added to the Minecraft game.

In the recent Minecraft Live presentation, the Minecraft developer Mojang made numerous announcements stating that the next major update is being prepared for Minecraft, and it might be released in 2022 in a big vanilla Minecraft update.

Now it is been said that Minecraft’s 2022 update is referred to as “Minecraft 1.20”. Some of the items or features are confirmed like camels, hanging signs, chiseled bookshelves, and also the bamboo crafting that includes the ability to build a bamboo raft. Camels can jump fair distances and most importantly, they can fit two players so that we can ride on them.

Other major Minecraft Live announcements are concerned about Minecraft Legends, like the franchise’s upcoming, and rather than the intriguing-looking, real-time strategy spin-off is being made by Mojang, We can also see the extensive chunk of gameplay like the players summoning up friendly animals, and monsters, sending them off to harvest resources, and now finally launching them into battle in 2022.
