The survival world of Minecraft can be frustrating sometimes, not because of monsters, hard-to-find Minecraft ores, and confusing biomes, but because most players struggle to travel in the huge Minecraft worlds. 

We have the option to teleport in Minecraft or use the Elytra later in the game, but we have to wait for later stages to do this, so sometimes we have an alternate solution. We can ride a horse in and reliable vehicle Minecraft rail.

There are 35 different types of a horse with differences in aesthetics. The types come from the fact that it has seven different colors and five different marking types. It can be mixed and matched with all, so it offers a lot of variety between each type of horse.

A horse can walk over flat land and over blocks that are just 1 block high. Its jump strength is about 1.5 to 5.5 blocks.

Here we cannot ride it in the water that is deeper than 1 block. If we try that, the horse will throw us off and the Horse will start drowning. So, to save our horse, use a lead to get out of the water, so we can ride it again.

The step-by-step guide to taming and riding a horse in Minecraft is as follows:

Find a saddle

First, we have to find a saddle or a horse armor, and we can find this item in chests inside in blacksmith shops, dungeons, Jungle Temples, End Cities, Strongholds, Ancient Cities, Bastion Remnant, nether fortresses, deserts, and we can also catch them while fishing. We can also trade goods for saddles in villages. 

Finding a Horse

We will be finding a horse, to do that we have to find horses spawn in plains, Sunflower Plains, Savanna Plateau, Windswept Savanna, Villages, and savanna biomes, and it usually comes in groups of two and six, which is common. They don’t attack us, so it is known as passive mobs. We can attack and kill them for just minimal XP and some leather-like monsters.

Note: Don’t try to train or find the skeleton or zombie horses because we cannot ride them.

Try to Tame the Horse

Here you have to select an empty slot in the Hot bar like not holding an item so that you can use your hand to tame the horse and now try to click on the Horse as we do for an item.

Note: Make sure we are not holding any items because we have to have a free hand to tame the horse.

The Horse will start bucking and throw us back. So, we need to repeat this until the hearts appear above his head and also, we can feed the Horse to help or ease tame it.

Put a Saddle on the Horse

After the horse stops kicking us off, it means we are ready to be saddled. Now open the inventory and drag the saddle into the box that is beside our horse. Now we are ready to put a saddle on the horse by holding a saddle in hand and also, we have to keep right-clicking on the horse. 

(optionally)Chests

We can only use the chest on a Donkey or a Mule. To equip, use it on the Donkey or Mule like we use any other item. But unlike saddles and Horse Armour, here we cannot get the chest back from the Donkey or Mule. If we want to get it back, the only way is to kill the Donkey.

Ride the horse

As we use right-click to mount the horse, we have to use the same controls while riding that we use while running around to move the horse.

If we want our horse to jump, we must simultaneously click the forward button while holding down the space bar until the action bar reaches the top of the blue screen. Make sure to release the button/key before the bar depletes.

Note: we won’t be able to control the movements of the horse until we put saddle.

To Dismount the Horse

To dismount the horse, press the sneak key. This key is different depending on the platform we use to play Minecraft:

• PC: we have to Press the left Shift key
• Xbox: we have to Press the right joystick
• PlayStation: we have to Press the right joystick
• Nintendo: we have to Press the right joystick
• Mobile: Tap the screen center button twice

How to open the inventory?

• Press E to open the inventory on a computer or laptop.
• Tap on the 3-dot button to open the inventory on the mobile phone device.
• Press the triangle button if we are using a PS3 or PS4.
• Press the Y button if we are using an Xbox.
• Press the X button if we are using a Wii U or Nintendo Switch.

In Minecraft, what do horses eat?

To tame a horse in Minecraft, we have to feed them with any of the following items:

• Apples
• Bread
• Hay
• Golden Apples
• Golden Carrots
• Sugar
• Wheat

How does the Horse Breeding in Minecraft?

Build a fence around the two horses once we have trained them, and give each of them a Golden Apple or Golden Carrot. If we are super lucky, hearts will appear above their heads, and soon we have a little colt. Then we must wait at least five minutes before attempting to breed our horses once more. Feed the baby horse to help it develop into an adult.
