Let’s now look at the pattern followed by the odd numbers from 1 to 100, which goes like this: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21…, 99.

The Sum of Odd Numbers 1 to 100

Odd numbers can be summed up using the formula: Sum = n², where ‘n’ is the number of odd numbers. To find the

sum, first check how many odd numbers are in the 1 to 100 range. There are a total of 50 odd numbers.

 


Therefore, Sum = n² = 50² = 2500.

 


Thus, 2500 is the sum of all odd numbers from 1 to 100.

Subtraction of Odd Numbers 1 to 100

Subtraction of odd numbers is determined by simply subtracting one odd number from another, which always results in an even number.


For example, 9 (odd) - 1 (odd) = 8 (even).

Odd Prime Numbers 1 to 100

Prime numbers are the numbers that have only 2 divisors: 1 and the number itself. Prime numbers that are odd

are termed odd prime numbers. All the prime numbers, except 2 are odd. There are a total of 24 odd prime

numbers in the range from 1 to 100.

Important Glossaries for Odd Numbers 1 to 100

  • Odd Numbers: when a number is divided by 2, and the remainder is non-zero, then it is called an odd number. Example:  7 ÷ 2 = quotient = 3 and remainder = 1, 7 is an odd number 

 

 

  • Prime Numbers: A whole number greater than 1 can only be divided by 1 and itself. It has no other divisors. Example: 2, 3, 5, and 7 are prime numbers these are only divisible by 1 and itself 

 

  • Subtraction: Subtraction is a process of finding out the difference between two numbers, by reducing one number from another. Example: 8–2 = 6, here we are subtracting 2 from 8 which gives the answer 6. 

 

 

  • Even Numbers: When a number is divided by 2 and it gives the remainder as 0 it is called an even number. Example:  8 ÷ 2 = quotient = 4 and remainder 0, 8 is an even number 

 

 

  • Divisible: A number is said to be divisible by another number, when divided it should give the remainder as zero. Example: 10 ÷  2 = Quotient = 5 and remainder = 0, hence we can conclude that 10 is divisible by 2
