Here are some examples:

601 × 2 = 601 + 601 = 1202  
601 × 3 = 601 + 601 + 601 = 1803  
601 × 4 = 601 + 601 + 601 + 601 = 2404

Breaking the numbers into smaller parts will make it easy to learn multiplication.

Here, 601 can break into 600 + 1  
(600 × 4) + (1 × 4) = 2400 + 4 = 2404.
